Case study

DCJ Strategic Consulting

What one Authority Foundation Engagement did for a founder-led advisory firm: from invisible to AI whenever a buyer asked, to a complete, machine-readable record of thirty years of authority. Real queries, documented before and after, published with the client's written approval.

This is the Authority Foundation Engagement: one fixed-fee build that takes a firm from credible-but-invisible to ready for AI.

The starting point, on the record

Dee Jones spent three decades running large public-sector and corporate operations in North Carolina, then founded DCJ Strategic Consulting. The expertise was never the question. So we ran the firm through ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, and Google page one the way a buyer would. Six questions, each asked three times per engine. Seventy-two answers.

Ask any engine who DCJ Strategic Consulting is and all four name her accurately, first, every time. Ask what a buyer actually types, some version of who should advise a company entering the North Carolina public sector, and she appears in four of forty-eight answers. Two of those four mention her in passing rather than recommend her. Three of the four engines never name her once. More than a hundred different firm names fill those slots instead; six come up again and again.

The engines that did know her name mostly sent readers somewhere other than her own site, and one of them volunteered unrelated firms sharing the same initials. The LinkedIn company page carried no description an engine could index. What was findable was accurate, and flat. It undersold the operator behind it.

The record wasn't there, and for founder-led firms it usually isn't. Dee's read on why:

“If you're a founder and the chief cook and bottle washer, you don't have a lot of time to recreate.”

What the Foundation built

ASSESSMENT The twelve-point read CAPTURE One interview, your assets FOUNDATION Source of truth + record READY FOR AI Findable, provable, yours One fixed-fee engagement, start to finish

The Authority Foundation Engagement is a fixed-fee, one-time build. For DCJ it produced two things.

Her source of truth. Capture sessions with Dee, structured into a single authoritative, current answer to who the firm is and why it wins. Five components:

Stands forA signature point of view on governance
Method, namedFive named methods, no more “varied experience”
ProofAn evidence bank: stories, boards, print, talks
VoiceAn editorial profile so it always sounds like her
ImageAn approved portrait library, built from her photos

A record rebuilt to carry it. A new dcjstrategicconsulting.net, built as fast static pages with structured data, so everything the source of truth says lands on a surface engines can find, verify, and cite. Alongside it, a two-layer LinkedIn architecture: the founder's profile as the reach surface, the company page as the full indexable record.

The deliverable is the client's, outright
  • The source of truth
  • The website and record
  • The imagery library
  • Every file, every right

That's the product: a stand-alone build with a beginning and an end. Dee can publish against it with us, hand it to anyone else, or run it herself. It works the same in all three cases, because she owns it.

The same twelve points, re-scored

Here is the exact read from the Assessment that opened the engagement, run again after the Foundation. Same topics, same standard.

Established = in place and working · Informal = exists, but only in her head or undocumented · Absent = not built.

The record, on camera

“Looking like herself” was one of the four absents: stock imagery on a site mid-rework, nothing showing the real operator behind the firm. The Foundation replaced it with a portrait library built from her own photography, reviewed and approved by Dee image by image.

After: the new primary

“I like it. It's just amazing.”

In her words

Before

“Pretty accurate, but not really exciting.”

On what a buyer could find about the firm
After

“I printed all of the pages off of the new website. And I really was: wow, do I do all that?”

On reviewing her new record

She did do all that. Every line came from her own record; the capture put it where the market can read it.

The Foundation is complete. DCJ is ready for AI.

Everything an engine or a buyer needs is built, approved, and published: the source of truth, the machine-readable record, the imagery, the proof. When AI reads DCJ Strategic Consulting now, it finds what Dee's best clients have always known.

11/12points established, up from zero

100%the client's to keep and use anywhere

The before-state sits on file, so the change gets measured instead of asserted. What Dee builds on this record next is a story for its own case study.

Your firm reads the same way DCJ used to

If buyers trust you the moment they meet you, but nothing findable says why, you're living the before column of this story. The Authority Foundation Engagement is the fixed-fee build that changes it, and the Assessment runs your firm through the same twelve points you just read.
